“We hired BHCC to cater our wedding weekend. I really wanted the food to be a highlight of the wedding. We were incredibly impressed with them from the start. Heather asked us about our likes, dislikes, life stories, our story, and our vision for the wedding. BHCC sent us a couple of proposals, each of which took into account our earlier conversations: artichokes (my favorite) were included in multiple dishes, there were multiple Deep South meets New England ideas (lobster and grits); everything felt tailored and thoughtful. Due to covid, we weren’t able to do a tasting so were basically going on faith (based on Heather’s competence and our amazing wedding planner, Rachel Sisson’s, experience with them). Our faith was incredibly well placed. The food was phenomenal, the staff was so friendly, efficient, and impressive, the entire operation felt seamless.
In addition, they noticed I wasn’t able to eat much of my dinner and sent it over as leftovers (which I devoured the next day). The after-party food was delicious, portable, and not prone to spilling (fried chicken sandwiches, parker house rolls, and lobster fried rice served in little takeout containers(!!)), which was very helpful as the night went on. In addition, BHCC came to set up for brunch the next morning and came into a mess of a kitchen (since we just went to sleep and didn’t look around the house after people left). They went above and beyond, cleaned, and got everything set up for brunch without missing a beat (I felt so bad about the mess!). So many guests came up to me to compliment the food, drinks, and service. Truly, I cannot recommend Bar Harbor Catering Company enough. If you want memorable food, great staff, and a really collaborative planning experience, BHCC is an excellent choice.”
“If you are looking for a caterer for your wedding or event- do not shop around and hire Bar Harbor Catering! Because of COVID-19 and a date change we had to hire a caterer 3 months before our wedding. We were also not able to have a tasting which made me so nervous, looking back I had no reason to be nervous. We hired Bar Harbor Catering for our rehearsal dinner, wedding day, and farewell breakfast. EVERYTHING WAS SO AMAZING!!! We still have guests raving about how amazing the food was. I even had some guests ask me what each course was because they are trying to re-create it at home. It was also such a wonderful surprise when we sat down at our table for toasts and speeches that they had prepared a small plate of appetizers for me and my husband. “Bar Harbor Catering was a dream to work with for our wedding. From initial contact to tasting, to day of services they were extremely professional and supportive and excellent in helping us get the wedding that we were hoping for. For reference, we were a relatively small wedding at ~60 guests.
BHC helped us craft an entirely vegan wedding day menu. This included table snacks, grazing menu, and entrees. All were excellent and we’ve had many compliments to the food. The food was one of our biggest concerns and they executed flawlessly. For drinks, we went with beer, wine, + a signature cocktail which were also served without issue. They were able to accommodate several additional dietary restrictions without issue and went out of their way to identify and take care of these guests.
Heather assisted with our planning and she has clearly built relationships in the community as she was able to liaise with the flower and tent/table/chair vendors. Day of she was very attentive and made sure that we were able to focus on the ceremony and our families rather than the details of the day. Overall, I can recommend BHC without reservation. They delivered beyond our expectations in every category. We’re very lucky to have found them.”

“Mandy and her team helped to save our “marriage in a maelstrom!” We were married during a terrible, big storm and Mandy’s staff were so kind and helpful to us and all our guests during the madness; they held curtains and umbrellas, rushed around in the rain, made sure my husband and I both ate a full meal, and helped us stay on schedule. She served a fabulous Ottolenghi-inspired dinner that I had requested but it truly went above and beyond what I had dreamed.
